Great place to stay during our visit to Amsterdam, before joining our cruise. We walked everwhere, did not need public transit. Hotel staff was helpful.

good location for visiting city.. Hotel was quiet, and very. clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good tram connections from main station (no 12 and no 2 trams), much cheaper than taxi. Was very near to a beautiful park, with a good cafe.

I stayed at the JL 76 for one night for business. While I loved the service and location, the executive room was a let down. Beginning with the positives, the hotel is located on a charming street near museums and many bars and restaurants. If you’re a luxury shopper, one of the prime shopping streets is located right behind the hotel. Don’t miss a delicious rijsttafel dinner at Kartika nearby. I received a very cheerful welcome and had a delicious glass of wine at the honesty bar. I liked the comfortable and chic vibe of the lobby and seating areas. I didn’t have the best night sleep though. The air con unit made an annoying clicking sound and I was too close to the ground floor to open my windows at night. The pillows were chunky and lumpy. The shower flooded the floor and had a protective plate standing upright which was a bit dangerous if a slip or fall occurred. The hair dryer was also on its last days. Perhaps I was unlucky with the faults in my room but I’m not sure I would stay here again.

My husband and I arrived for a 2 night stay here recently. I had arranged a birthday package to be in the room, which was balloons, macarons and a bottle of wine. Good value seen as the bottle of wine in the honesty bar was more than the package I paid for... Our "executive" room was on the first floor. It didn't blow me away. Was pretty basic looking. I thought we had a garden view but we were overlooking the street. At the time the opposite houses were having work done so the view wasn't great. Super quiet road though! There is a school a couple of doors away which we didn't know about. But this does not affect the stay. Room was nice. Not much room to move around at all. Sink in the room and not in the bathroom but all very clean. Bedding super soft and bed comfy. Towels super soft. We had a peaceful sleep the first night and morning. The second morning was a bit loud as the room opposite was being cleaned I guess. Bring ear plugs if you want a lay in. The rooms are all very close. As said before, the cleaning was very very good. However the rainfall shower was a disappointment. It was full of limescale so all the little nozzles were all over the place, which made it difficult for me to have a shower as I wanted to keep my hair dry. Impossible to do when the shower head is like it is. Such an easy fix! Overall the staff are very accommodating and friendly, the street is quiet and very close to transport. We didn't have breakfast although I had an email saying we did... But that was sorted quickly. We didn't see their garden or have anything from the honesty bar or restaurant so I cannot comment on that. I would of loved to have seen what the basic rooms were like as i wouldn't think there was much difference.. If I come to Amsterdam again, I probably wouldn't choose this hotel due to the location. (Personal choice) But is very very close to the tram and bus. We like to walk everywhere and was a bit of a walk to the centre. Morning coffee and a walk around Vondelpark was lovely though. If you love museums then this is perfect for you as you're right in the thick of it.
